Nobel Athletic Area Parcourse

Nobel Athletic Area

You’re probably asking yourself, what does a blog about fitness trails have to do with San Diego music?  That is a good question, and the answer is simple.  I suspended my gym membership.  Around January I noticed  I was dreading going to the gym. It became a grind just to get pumped up enough to jockey for a parking space, let alone free weights or cardio equipment.  In short, I was burned out.  But that is no excuse for not staying active.  So I started getting outdoors again and playing outside.

Last month I did a quick blog on the De Anza Cove Parcourse.  The response was so awesome, I decided to do another one.  As far as I can tell, no one had written about the Nobel Athletic Area Parcourse yet. As I was reviewing the videos for the previous blog I thought to myself, “This would be way better if I had someone actually demonstrate the exercises.”

Enter Jessica Krtek.

her roommate run Hakunamasquata.  Hakunamasquata means ‘Nice booty’. They just reached 10k subscribers and are rapidly growing.  They promote to women every where that,

“You don’t have to be super buff, or super into weight lifting and fitness.  It can be an addition to your lifestyle.  A lot of times when females think about weight lifting, they think they’re going to get huge. That’s never really what happens! We show people that they don’t have to go extreme. This is something that you can fit into your lifestyle.” Jessica Krtek 2015©

Jessica was totally down meet up on a sunny weekend morning to help demonstrate the parcourse stations.

The loop is approximately 1 mile.  The course is paved and easy to follow with one exception. After the pull up station, I cut across the grass to get back onto trail next to Toscana St.  For the after dark crowd, the path is well lit and very safe.   Starting at the NE corner of the east parking lot and going clockwise the stations are as follows:

1. Push Ups

2. Parallel Bars

3. Step up routine

4. Sit Up

5. Chin up |  Pull up

6. Ladder Climb

7. Hanging Leg Lift

8. Balance Beam
